The image converters on this site run inside your browser. The file is decoded, redrawn and re-encoded on your own device, and the result is offered to you as a download. It is not transmitted anywhere and is discarded from memory when you leave the page. There is no account system and no database of user submissions. As a side effect of re-encoding, camera metadata such as GPS coordinates is not carried over into the converted file.
Ordinary web server logs may record the page you requested, your IP address, the time of the request and your browser's user agent string, in the same way any website does. These logs exist to keep the site running and to spot abuse.
Some work cannot happen in a browser tab: documents, long video and formats a canvas refuses to decode, such as TIFF or camera RAW. Those conversions will need a server, which means the file will leave your device. That feature is not open yet. Before it is, this page will state exactly what gets stored, for how long, and when it is deleted — and the tools that need it will say so before you send anything.
If analytics are enabled, they are used to count page views and understand which converters are worth building next. They are never linked to the contents of what you convert. Analytics cookies are switched off until you accept them.
Nothing on this site needs a cookie to work, and declining leaves every converter fully working. You can change your mind at any time.
