WebP to PNG
Convert WebP images to PNG for software that will not open WebP. Keeps transparency, takes a whole batch at once and keeps no copy of your file.

PNG, JPEG, WebP, GIF, BMP, AVIF, TIFF, SVG, ICO — mix as many formats as you like. Files are converted on our server and deleted the moment the result is sent back; nothing is stored and nothing is looked at.
Convert to
PNG is lossless. Transparency is kept.
Most people reach for this conversion because something refuses to open a WebP: an older photo editor, a print shop, a company template, an operating system a few versions behind. PNG is the safe answer because every browser is required to support it and virtually every desktop application reads it. Transparency survives, since both formats have an alpha channel.
How it is calculated
canvas.toBlob(callback, "image/png")
PNG is lossless, so no quality setting appears here: the encoder keeps every pixel it is given. Note that lossless refers to this step only — detail already discarded when the WebP was made lossy does not come back.

Questions people ask
- Will the PNG be bigger than the WebP?
- Usually yes, often several times. WebP was designed to be smaller, and PNG stores every pixel exactly. You are trading file size for compatibility, which is the whole point of this conversion.
- Does transparency survive?
- Yes. Both formats support an alpha channel, so transparent areas stay transparent and no background colour is needed.
- Does it improve the quality?
- No. If the WebP was saved lossy, the lost detail is gone before this tool sees the file. Converting to PNG preserves what is left exactly, but it cannot reconstruct anything.
- Can I convert several files at once?
- Yes. Drop in as many images as you like and every one of them comes out as PNG. They may be different formats — PNG, JPEG, WebP, GIF, BMP, AVIF, TIFF, SVG, ICO can sit in the same list — because each file is converted on its own. Download them one by one, or take the whole batch as a single .zip.
- What if I want JPEG or WebP or GIF or AVIF or TIFF instead of PNG?
- Pick it under "Convert to". This page opens on PNG because that is the conversion it is named after, but JPEG and WebP and GIF and AVIF and TIFF are one click away, and the options underneath follow whichever you choose — quality appears for the formats that are lossy, a background colour for the ones that cannot store transparency.

A number that disagrees with its source is a defect, not a rounding preference.
What did you enter, what did the tool show, and what did you expect instead? If you have a source that disagrees with ours, a link to it is the most useful thing you can send.
